Solitary Monday...

Original Xanga entry ↗

Slept pretty badly last night. Tossed and turned over and over. Woke up sweating cos I had accidentally put the aircon on timer. Went back to sleep again, submerging myself in crazy psychedelic dreams.

I sometimes wonder if I am doing the right thing. My journey towards self healing has seemed to slow down as the days fly by. Where I was sure of my goal in the past, I am beginning to flounder in the process. It is getting harder for me to keep objectives in my head and the same old problem of procrastination is rearing its ugly head once more.

Have a fairly important therapy session tomorrow and I have some homework to prepare for it today. Need some real good solitude time to re-evaluate my current emotional state and figure out what else needs to be fixed.

There are times when I wonder if I am over-protecting myself and in the process hurting the people around me. During a conversation yesterday, I brought up the fact that as we go from relationship to relationship, we seem to learn about the cruel nature of humans and start putting up shields to protect ourselves. These shields can sometimes be just a glass wall easily breakable and penetrated, or it could be a spiked titanium shield that will hurt anyone who comes near it while being virtually untouched.

Have I become overly-jaded? Think I'm gonna ponder about this over the next few hours and figure out what went wrong...

i can agree to your view of relationship. but you also have to remember it help us mature as we go through one. we all start off knowledgeless. also selfhealing takes time...i'm still going through healing from my last relationship which is about 4 years? still single at the age of 23 for me...

I will have to concur with cupideffect.

There are 2 kinds of people who may get hurt during your process of self-healing - those who understand and those who don't.

Be cautious and sensible with those who understand, for in the end they may no longer wish to understand what you're going through.

As for those who don't understand - well, it takes two hands to clap when it comes to getting hurt and hurting someone.

You have to do things at your own pace, and not the pace others would have you take.  Honestly I don't believe you have it in you to become overly cynical or closed.  Jaded? Sure, but you have to much of a loving nature for the game to be over for you.

Think back to the circumstances where Love last hit you in the face.  Your not in that place now.

I for one think it a good thing, mostly because this is the first time you've been on your own.  It gives you a chance to help define yourself as an adult, as a woman, simply as "Olivia" without the confines of a relationship *which i'm not knocking obviously*.

You'll be ready when your ready.

Faith.. :)
