When Push Comes To Shove...

Original Xanga entry ↗

... Don't expect me to constantly accept apologies.
... Don't expect me to keep on giving chances.
... Don't expect me to turn around and smile.
... Don't expect me to understand.

I am NOT pushing you away.

You NEED to be away.

Grow up!

Stop being obsessed!

This is becoming seriously TOXIC and it needs to STOP!

Listen for a change and try keeping your promises. I know I've kept mine.

I dont think liv wants that person to come back. I dont think she will come back too. She is gone for good.

HMoody · 12/16/2007 11:13 PM

Popeye, how do you know she won't want the person to come back?

I think she will definitely miss that person -

I think what she's trying to say is for the person to give her space to grow and recover herself.

If you water a plant too much, wouldn't that plant wither and die too?

I'd like to believe that that person truly loves her, and will take all this as only a temporary setback.

Eh.. If your relationship with someone is defined only as biding your time for them to change, and return what you want.. then your only fooling yourself, and lying to the object of your affection.

If you look at something as only a 'temporary' setback, you fall into the trap of thinking you have to somehow work harder, be better, changing a bit more to be what that person wants..

That's the path of obsession, and is NOT the path of love.

You cannot truly be seeking a friendship, or supporting a friendship if your constantly looking for that opportunity to make it more.  True friendship doesn't work like that.

you have no idea how much your post strikes a chord with me. those are the exact same words my gf told me one day a few months ago.

i completely empathize with what you're going through. (but err, since i was on the receiving end of the words, i understand how your girlfriend is feeling too..)

anyway the point to all this rambling is just my way of saying dont give up hope in love, and in the one you love, or thought/think you love.

sometimes you need to push someone away in order for her to grow up and become your anchor, your support, and be someone who can be there for you. (and keep her promises too, in the process. heh)

sometimes, space is needed for both of you. she needs to grow up, yea, we all know that, but sometimes, maybe, just maybe, you need to be more open too. so let her go, (even if she sees it as pushing her away.. but you know women. cant live with 'em, can't live without 'em) and when she is ready to be all the (wo)man she can be for you, she'll come back.
