Original Xanga entry ↗Been working on Project Living room for the past 7 hours. Can finally see the whole space of the living room again. Also cleared out the storeroom and repacked it so that anything that needed to be kept could be stored properly.
3 lift loads FULL of rubbish plus a car-boot-full trip to the Salvation Army Drop Off point at 5 am in the morning. I wonder where the motivation comes from. Eternally greatful to Ben for being so wonderful this entire time and helping to move, pack, clean everything from the storeroom, the mess in the living room to the stuff under my bed.
By this time tomorrow, I hope to have everything organised in anticipation for the donated sofa and TV from Irene to arrive next week. My new wardrobe has been fitted into my room, courtesy once again of Ben. He took it upon himself to drive to Ikea, buy the damn thing and install it for me. Now all I need to do is put my clothes into it
So exciting, 2 rows full of pink hangers and colour coded clothes. Honestly looking forward to sorting that out tomorrow.
This is really becoming my home again and if I were offered a chance to move out now, I wouldn't. I love having my own house that I can do whatever I like with. Hopefully over the next year, I'll make small improvements to it every month to make it what I want it to truly be. A safe haven for myself and my friends as well. It may never be as big as some other people's places or as professionally decorated but it is cozy and it's truly mine.
Real sense of accomplishment today, especially since we only started at 10 pm. Managed to do so much, in so little time! Although my room is a mess right now, by the end of tomorrow, it should be well cleared and I'll be so happy because the living room will become real space again. A place I can sit at and enjoy watching TV, reading a book, or just simply stoning!
Joe remarked today that our lives are becoming a sitcom like FRIENDS. A group of random people, thrown together because of various reasons and enjoying each other's company everyday. I thank God everyday for my friends. They truly make living worthwhile. I would be so lost without them... really truly lost... The fun, laughter, joy that they bring me is honestly so priceless. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world. I am happy.
