THE ONE FROM MY BOSS' LAPTOP

I broke PIGLET yesterday. For the uninformed, you can refer to this post that
I made in June last year. It is pretty frustrating how it happened. I
had been meaning to clean it out for a while, because the fans were
chockful of dust and I felt that the temperature on PIGLET had been
extremely hot recently. So finally on Monday morning, the sound card
died while I was using Skype. At first I thought it was just an
overheating problem and assumed it would be fixed when I got home.

It wasn't.

So when I got home on Tuesday, I did various things like reinstalling
the drivers and updating all possible crap. NOTHING WORKED. SO I
decided to open it up and clean the fan and perhaps take a look to see
if there was anything loose or busted. BIG MISTAKE. The processor came
off when I unscrewed the fan and in my attempts to replace it on the
socket, some pins became bent. Out came the tweezers to straighten the
pins. In the process... ONE FUCKING PIN BROKE....

There goes my Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.8 Ghz chip.

After some research on various forums, I spent the entire night trying
to figure out ways to substitude the pin with wire, gold chips etc etc.
Nothing worked and in the process, I discovered that the TOSHIBA
SATALITTE that my dad had handed me to fix actually boots up, although
it reboots alot by itself also.

Long story short, I couldn't fix the problem, only slept at 6 am, got
up at 9 am, had a bunch of meetings, brought 2 laptops in to be fixed
and is likely to be out a few hundred bucks. AND no computer for the
next few days. YAY~ GO ME!~

The guy at the shop advised me to buy a replacement chip as he knows of
no one who is willing to fix the processor. Having called a bunch of
people, I know he is speaking the truth. There goes $340 out of my
pocket... and here I was trying to save money this month too... so much
for that! And PIGLET still needs to get the sound portion fixed, which
is more or less a short circuit or blown fuse on some part of the
hardware.

Oh and it rained while I was trying to get a cab back to the office. I
got drenched and the presentation that I did for my meeting today
sucked. And they hated our ideas and now I have to do another
presentation for another meeting which is happening in 8 hours. All
this while I have only slept 3 hours in the past 36 hours. GO ME!~ GO
GO GO GO GO!~

Thank God my boss loaned me his laptop. Or what will I ever do?

Sorry day wasn't going to well.

I loathe Toshiba Laptops :( the spare parts are ridiculously overpriced. $5.00 USD for a single screw.
