Original Xanga entry ↗Have anyone ever had one of those weeks where nothing seems to go right, and everytime something perks you up for a little while, then something else sends you crashing down again???
Well, I'm having one of those weeks right now. It's been a hell of a roller-coaster ride this week and I really don't know how much of this I can take. I got home, from a relatively cheerful ride home <in contrast with the horrible one I had the previous night>, expecting myself to be in a better mood. Things seemed to be looking up a bit, and I was feeling slightly happier. Guess what? My mum waltzes right in and informs me that my Grandmother is coming on Monday. That is just 4 days away. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandmother and I enjoy having her visit. However, she is a cleanliness and neatness fanatic, and that just doesn't sit too well in my family, cos neither me nor my mum are good at keeping things neat and tidy. Our small 3 room apartment is relatively untidy and messy, so if grandma is coming on Monday, we have the grand total of 4 days to tidy and clean before she descends upon us and lets us know exactly what she thinks of the untidiness.
If only she would give us more notice. Maybe she could come the week after next week, when we have a full 2 weeks to prepare for her arrival. But she is coming on MONDAY... and that just scares me
I admit my room is like a PIG STY, and I have got to clear it up before she comes, cos when she comes, she tends to sleep in my room. *sigh* I know this ranting is not doing any good, but I just don't know what else to do
<and yeah yeah most pple would tell me get offline and start on the cleaning, but unfortunately, I'm in the office, not at home
SO THERE>
Anyhow, I woke up at like 2 pm today and lay around on my bed today, before realising that I had agreed to meet Mark for lunch. So I dragged myself out and took a shower before going out to met him. I told him about my misfortune and how my grandma is coming in 4 days. What did he do? HE LAUGHED !!!! *pout* Some people are just not sympathetic are they?
Anyhow, I just got into work about half an hour ago, and the wonderful "He-who-is-the-love-of-my-life" came online to ask me why I hadn't called him today. Well, obviously it was because I didn't have a freaking phone to call him with, since I had returned Mark's phone to him and my phone is STILL dead. Then he went on about the problems he was having which I can totally understand, but I just could not handle how much he was thinking in terms of "himself". Is this like a trait in all guys? It's not like I wasn't going to help... but it really hurt when he started mentioning he was going to start selling stuff off to raise cash. What hurts most? The fact he wants to sell something which -I- bought after -HE- bugged me for ages. I bought it cos I wanted him to be happy. Yet he could mention that he wanted to sell it. I guess I'm just not in the mood for that kind of "jest" today.
Yes, money is the root of all evil, and even though sometimes it can make the world go round, sometimes it creates more problems then it is worth. As if it's not bad enough that my phone died, and I don't have the cash to buy a new one, my grandma is coming next week (and whenever she comes, she racks up hundreds in phone bills cos she calls back home everyday), my loved one has a debt that needs to be cleared, and my company just told me they banked my cheque already, which means the earliest I can get ANY money is on Monday. *sigh* Somedays things just suck don't they?
Quote for today :-
I guess I should really heed the advice of this quote so I can earn LOTSA LOTSA money, so I don't have financial crisis.
And on days like these, this is what I use to keep me alive :-
I shall believe that everything that happens has a reason behind it, and I shall try to accept the reason, and perhaps try to see it as a miracle
. When you live though tough times, then you can truly appreciate the good times.

Life goes up and down because we are no longer guided by instinct. We obey. And the solution everyone eventually applies, to make them content, is to substitute some form of pleasure for everything. A pleasure is reliable, even if it decays us; even if the sensation of pleasure is a warning of decay. Pleasure is a steady "I can get by on it." scenario. No more up and down.

Never hate to be laughed at. Laughter is the most eloquent form of expression our species has. All that is wrong with it is that the longer we speak the less we listen with that kind of intensity which laughter requires.
To put words together into normal sentences is mechanical activity, because it is all contrived for effect, while to hear laughter is like understanding beauty when you see it.
If you see beauty, maybe it means sex to you by now. And then beauty has gone the way of laughter, as a sort of interruption to sex, to progress, to goals.
You are on a date and the other says, "What a fine sunset!", and you are annoyed because you have to think of an answer just when you were getting good and aroused. And probably your other only means it as foreplay, not as sunset worship.
In school the teachers all complain about children laughing at them. But that laughter is their wisdom, not their contempt. This wisdom is in the way of society's contempt, which is manifest as education, as teachers insisting on going home with a secure salary and a secure pension in a classroom full of insecurity that is actually innocence, an inability to be contemptuous.
Come back to the child-side, the laughing side.

Men are never sympathetic...

Hey I resent TANGLED's statement! Some men are sympathetic!
You never know tho... sometimes men are led to believe that being sensitive (and in this instance, sympathetic) is a sign of weakness. Thank goodness I don't suffer from that malady. Although, sometimes my sensitivity can take me places I'd just as soon not go... but hey, what are TRUE friends for? *smile*
