Weekly Wrapup

Original Xanga entry ↗

It's been a crazy week with lots of things happening...

Monday started with me being late for work even though I told myself I would try to make it on time. I can't wait for when my shift starts at 12 pm instead of damn 9 am! Went with Bunny to get her haircut after work where Ricky proceeded to give her a "manga cartoon boy" haircut. It is extremely cute though and once again I thank my lucky stars that I found a great and trustworthy hairdresser in Ricky.

Had lunch at Soup Spoon with C on Tuesday. Drinks at TCC after. Been a while and it was nice to catch up with her. Life has been interesting on both our sides and I was glad we could still have great conversation together. Caught the Wilde Fundraiser for Indignation with the girls in the evening. I was extremely impressed by how Shaw was basically very public about their support for the gay cause. The huge screen in the level 5 foyer was given over to a slide show with pictures of Indignation being showed on it. The foyer was blocked off for the cocktail reception. Good food sponsored by The Garden Slug, wine by Boozeshop and there were even goodie bags at our seats. The movie itself was alright. Not wonderfully good, but with enough eye candy in it to make watching it worthwhile. I was really mad at how close minded the people were and why they made Oscar Wilde seem like a stupid fool in love. I think the saving grace was that Jude Law is once again to-die-for and yummylicious in this movie. Makes it easy to see how he was nominated best newcomer for this movie.

Wednesday was the beginning of a few physically tiring days. Wanted to bring Chipmunk to the vet since he had grown a huge bump on his behind while I was away, but he looked much better after
being seperated from Mango. He is still under observation and I'm
hoping the swelling on his butt will completely go down eventually. If
not, a trip to the vet will definitely be necessary. So I ended up going to the gym after work. First time I've been to the gym in almost 3 years. Was good though. I felt very refreshed after working out and I'm looking forward to incorporating an exercise routine back into my life. Of course I didn't feel the exhaustion until I got home. Totally crashed and only woke up when Bunny got home. She surprised me with a bouquet of flowers on my doorstep. Totally spoiling me as usual. We then went groceries shopping for the dinner on Friday. Bought a full trolley load and wheeled it home hand in hand. Domestication really becomes us :)

Flowers make me smile...

Thursday was when the real madness began. My period had started the night before and this was the first day of the red tide. I ended up going to the toilet 3 times during the 4 hours I was at work. Went to meet Bunny for lunch after work and had a yummy subway sandwich. Will picked me up after and we started on the wild pressies shopping spree. From Wheelock Place to DFS to Isetan to Takashimaya to Lucky Plaza... We combed them all! 6 hours and 25 pressies later, Will dropped me off at home where I proceeded to help him wrap the gifts. This was the final result:

YQ is definitely a lucky gal!

Sleeping so late on Thursday night resulted in a grouchy Liv on Friday morning. Fortunately work was simply listening in to my buddy's calls. The morning passed fairly quickly with frequent trips to the toilet once again. I was relieved when it was 1 pm and I could head home. But first I had to go buy crabs for dinner. Bought 4 female crabs at Carrefour and ended up breaking my cab boycott as I wanted to get home asap and didn't fancy taking MRT with live crabs tagging along. Got home and started working on the dinner. Had a bit of a crab adventure when one of the creatures managed to snap the string tying its pincers and proceeded to climb out of the sink. Fortunately I battled it with my tongs and a cup of scalding hot water. It was tamed and promptly taken apart so I wouldn't have a roaming crab in my home. Wouldn't want to end up having a crab farm taking over my kitchen.

Dinner was great fun with the girls joking and laughing loads. I cooked chilli crabs with fried mantou, miso soup, steamed herbal chicken, beef & potato balls, deep fried tumeric fish and french beans with soya beans & chilli padi. Unfortunately, I totally forgot about taking a picture this time. Oh well, as long as I can remember that the crab was yummy with the mantous! After dinner, we had some time to have a bit of fun before embarking on the real reason why I had invited everyone over for dinner. I won't go into details, but I have great hopes for this project and really hope that it will happen. We basically had so much fun and laughed so loud that my neighbour came over 3 times to complain. We ended up having to adjourn to the kitchen to continue the conversation. But it was still cool. I feel really lucky to have met these girls and I can see that we'll be having even more fun together in the future :) You all rock!

It was only after everyone left that I realised how tired I was. Entire body was aching and I couldn't wait to crash after my shower. Ended up sleeping in this morning and sleeping on and off for the entire day. It didn't help that my period decided to go on a further rampage and wreck my body with cramps every hour. Am glad that I stayed home and managed to catch up on my rest today while Bunny was away at IDAHO and buying her new laptop. Couldn't imagine being out of the house in such condition. Can't wait for the medication to take effect so that these crazy periods would stop!

Pretty sad that I can't go cycling at Ubin with the girls tomorrow. Simply not willing to risk the toilets on Ubin. Will consider going to PLAY tmr night tho. There's a twoqueens party going on. Haven't really been clubbing for a while and looking forward to some drinking and dancing. The last 2 times we went to parties, the Bunny always ended up falling asleep, so hopefully we can have a proper clubbing night tomorrow.
