And Now I am 28...

Original Xanga entry ↗

Spent my birthday going back and forth from the Taiwan Embassy, trying to get my visa sorted out. Fortunately I managed to get it done, so I'm definitely going to Taiwan tomorrow :) Of course now I have the problem of not having started packing. Weather report for Taiwan seems to predict fairly cool weather, which I'll definitely enjoy... Going to bring my warm jackets and nice boots. Leaving on a jet plane at 1 pm tomorrow and arriving back in Singapore on 3rd Feb at 11 pm. So if anyone is looking for me, please drop smses or emails. Phone calls will mostly not be entertained...

Finally managed to get my ass down to Queensway Shopping Centre to get a new pair of trainers after my old ones fell apart. Good thing the Taiwan Embassy was so near. After spending half an hour going through all the Nike and Adidas trainers, I opted for the more cost efficient and stable New Balance X-Trainers in colours which are very me :) Quite happy with my choice, although I think I would have gone with a black and red pair if they had it. This is my birthday pressie to myself, just in time for travelling tomorrow.

So totally un-ME, yet totally ME at the same time...

Had a great dinner at Irene's place tonight. Godma cooked and we all overate. It was nice to spend a quiet dinner with the people whom I am closest to. Simple, but meaningful. Had my third Awfully Chocolate cake today. It is quite a coincidence
that everyone bought the same cake, but I really appreciate the gesture.

It's been a great birthday, made all the more special because I spent it with both old friends and new. And the birthday celebrations will continue through the week as I spend it with my dad for the first time. Really hoping that this Taiwan trip will be fun. Looking forward to it now, since everything is more or less set. First time to Taiwan and I'm anticipating the good food and great shopping.
