THE ONE WHERE LIV LOSES HER VOICE

Original Xanga entry ↗

So I more or less spent the entire weekend in silence. I was home this past weekend and spent about half of it catching up on Naruto.
For those who watch anime, I am sure you know the wildly popular Naruto
has been doing filler episodes for a while now. The last time I watched
Naruto was on the plane, on my way to USA about 6 months ago. So save
to say, I was about 30 episodes behind. Having caught up on most of it
over this weekend, I have got to say that everyone was right. I wasn't
missing all that much! I'm hoping that the filler episodes will get
done soon and we can start focusing on the real story!

But I digress.

I realised what a pain it is to not have a voice. It was almost
impossible for me to talk on the phone simply because I sounded so
hoarse, that it was barely understandable. Everyone misunderstood
everything I said. I had to repeat myself like 4-5 times everytime. In
the end, I gave up and simply hid at home the entire weekend. I played
a bit of Final Fantasy XI, watched Naruto and at times, simply lay in
bed. It was good for me, kind of a recovery from all the hussle and
bustle of the past 2 months. The only thing I really regret was that I
had to miss Michelle's Irish Birthday Party
on friday. Not that I had any choice. I really had no voice on friday
and seeing as I was sick, it really wouldn't do to have me go drink
myself silly and pass out at her place. Fortunately though, all that
resting I did over the weekend (plus all the porraige I stuffed into
myself, the horrible herbel tea my dad had me drink and the incredible
1.5 litre bottles of water I made myself drink) worked. My voice is kinda back
and although it still sounds kinda scratchy and hoarse, at least I
don't have to repeat myself about 5 times everytime I say something.
Unless of course, I'm speaking to Chris... then I have to repeat myself
10 times... some days I think he just
pretends not to understand :P But its ok, I still love him :)

2 incredibly silly people, with incredibly silly grins, undoubtly incredibly happy!
