THE ONE WITH 2 TRIPS, A LAPTOP AND THE NEED FOR LOTS OF MONEY

Grandma came for a surprise visit last Sunday. I got the email on Friday and viola, they arrived on Sunday. It has been a whirlwind of a trip. The first thing that happened was that she told me the horror story of Uncle Aminta's company laptop being stolen from his car. With the problem of replacing this item on her mind, we spent the entire week gathering funds. In the end, there wasn't enough, borrowing from all sources still ended up with only $1800, some $300 short of the amount required. Obviously, because she was so upset and obsessed about it, I decided to top it up for her. The problem with this being I had to dip into the "Going to America" fund. However, I guess alot of things for me is that Grandma is already so old... there issn't much else we can do for her, other then try to keep her happy. If we fail to keep her happy, if anything happens, at least we tried our best to keep her happy and stressfree.

After much discussion with the various parties involved, I have decided to make the trip to USA. Although it is going to take an insane amount of money, it is very important for me to make this trip. One of the main reasons is because I think my mother could use the emotional boost. She's been down recently and I would like to think that my visit will boost her emotional morale. She's been so depressed lately, talking about such morbid things that it would truly be a good idea to make this trip and reassure her that our family will be together again. It is also fairly important for me to meet Chris, once and for all resolve the mystrey about him. I believe that only when we meet can I make the right decisions. No matter what everyone tells me, no one can understand the need I have for closure. I need to be certain, need to be absolutely sure of my choices in life.

My boss has been wonderful to me during this period of trying times. I am very grateful to him for being so understanding and even agreeing that I need this time off to settle my personal life. If all goes well, I will be flying on 31st August and returning on 17th September. Pray for me everyone! And donations are welcome!
