Good Morning everyone!

It is Monday morning again and I'm back at my desk at 10 am. It has been a wonderful weekend, filled with interesting activities for once.

Friday night was pool night. Ray and I decided to play many many games of pool. Other then the first game, where I won by a mere ball, I lost all the games we played against each other. It's fine by me though, it was just nice to start playing again. Fiddling around with the idea of buying my own cue again. Think it should be about time in 2-3 mths.

Saturday we got up nice and early, took the train all the way to Jurong and proceeded to raid the IMM building. Neither of us had been there before, so we were astonished at how big it was, the amount of items which were sold at Giant and most importantly, we discovered DAISO! For the uninitiated (esp. if you live in SG) Daiso is a Jap superstore that sells everything at $2. And I literally mean EVERYTHING! We found items from bags to shoes to toiletries to gardening tools. Snacks, household items, stationary and even clothes! That place is a treasure cave! Everything is $2 and everywhere you turn, there is something you want to buy. We ended up buying something like 15 items.

After IMM, we proceeded to to LOTR exhibition. The entry was expensive, but we figured since we were such fans, we had to go. Turns out the exhibition had alot of interesting facts. And it was quite a wonder to look at all the props. I was a bit dissapointed by how little interaction there was, but other then that, it was good. I think we had more fun at the Science Centre. We figured since the ticket price included entry to the science centre, we might as well go take a look. It was fun for us reliving all the things we used to see in the past on school excursions. By the time we were done, we were both quite tired, so we headed home for a quiet dinner and relaxation.

Sunday morning dawned early for us and we proceeded to Plaza Sing to watch Kill Bill 1 and Kill Bill 2. I am totally glad we had not watched KB1 before. It was a blow me away experience to watch both movies at once and I throughly enjoyed it. There was blood, gore and lots of excitement, but there was also underlying meanings throughout the entire 2 movies. In some ways, Quentin Tarantino was making fun of these hack and slashers, but the way he put the movie together was so exquisite, you can't help thinking that he is a true master of such arts. Using anime was a wonderful touch and I totally wouldn't mind watching the movies again.

That said, I was dissapointed at how predictable the ending was. Was I the only one who saw the ending coming? Obviously there was going to be a little girl. Obviously Bill was going to die. Obviously he was going to be killed by the "five-points-exploding-heart" technique. Nevertheless, the movies were good. I just wish directors would stop thinking their audience was stupid and drop such obvious hints in the movie that it makes it so clear what's going to happen next. Whatever happened to "twists in the tale" or mere surprises?

Anyways, it was a good weekend, we had fun, although at some expense to the bank account. Think I'll live on bread and water for the next 2 weeks or so. ;)

Bread and water builds character.  Or something, I don't know, I don't eat bread nor do I drink water.  I survive by charging my batteries in available wall-sockets and occasionally off of people trapped in red spheres with probes attached to their nervous system.  You damn dirty apes!
